On Monday, April 7th, the Nickel City Disc Golf team took a huge leap toward making the Twin Stacks design a reality. We officially walked the entire proposed layout for our new 18-hole disc golf course at Twin Stacks Golf Club in Coniston, finalizing hole locations, tee placements, and overall flow of the course.

A Big Step Forward

We were joined by Thomas Hums, whose thoughtful design input and sharp disc golf mind helped us evaluate each hole with an eye for both challenge and fun. Alongside him was Thomas Gilbert, Canada’s top DGPT tour pro, offering valuable insight from a touring pro’s perspective. The collaboration between the two Thomases was electric—balancing creativity, strategy, and practicality to shape something we believe Greater Sudbury disc golfers will love.

A massive thank-you goes out to Phillipe, General Manager at Twin Stacks Golf Club, who walked all 18 with us and contributed great feedback. His support has been crucial to bringing disc golf into this amazing golf property.

The final twin stacks design blends wooded technicality, long open fairways, elevation changes, and natural features that make each hole memorable. It’s built to challenge experienced players while still being accessible to those newer to the sport.

This wasn’t just a walk—it was a milestone. A moment where vision became layout, and collaboration turned into a course we can’t wait to share with the Sudbury disc golf community.
